RealAudio
Developed by RealNetworks, RealAudio is the most common format
for streaming audio on the Web. Streaming means that the audio file is
played as it's delivered to your computer, instead of being fully downloaded
and then played. This allows you to listen to much larger files (like live
radio broadcasts) without waiting for hours. You need the RealPlayer
plug-in installed on your browser to listen to these files. These files
use the suffix of .ra.
